Presentation of "A Lexicon of Terror" by Marguerite Feitlowitz 15/10/2015
On Thursday, October 15, 2015, the book A lexicon of terror by Marguerite Feitlowitz was presented. Together with the author disserted Robert Cox, Ana María Careaga, Eduardo Jozami and Daniel Feierstein. In the presentation, they referred to the languages of terror used in countless texts and subtexts, elevated rhetoric, dialects and jargon, which the Military Board that governed Argentina between 1976 and 1983 used, through a language manipulated with a diabolical ability to confuse, disorient and terrify. It was profoundly debated and in parallel to these brutal speeches, some 30,000 "subversion" suspects were kidnapped from the streets, tortured in secret detention centers and made to "disappear".
