Leopoldo Marechal, parody and story of the Argentine avant-garde 1/4/2011 al 26/4/2011

During the month of April of 2011, the writer and translator Marcela Solá offered a revision on the thought of Leopoldo Marechal. In addition to studying philosophy at the Argentine Catholic University, she has published novels and books of poetry, as well as numerous collaborative works. Within her teaching career, she has taught at Laval University, Québec, Canada, and at the University of Belgrano, 'Argentine literature for the Multicultural Program and the Argentine and Latin American Studies Program. In 1984, she obtained the Fulbright Scholarship to participate in the International Writers Workshop in Iowa, U.S.A.

 

LECTURER

Marcela Solá is a writer, translator, who studied philosophy at the Argentine Catholic University, Santa María de los Buenos Aires. She has published a novel, El silencio de Kind (1999, finalist for the 1997 Planeta Prize); a book of poems, Acta de defunción (1994, first prize in the II Arcane Poetry Contest); three books of stories: Los condenados visten de blanco (1971), Mis propios ojos no dan abasto (1976) and Manual de situaciones imposibles (1990), all at the Carlos Lohlé publishing house. Works in collaboration: "Una espeleología de la luz", in Dessin Dunsmore Peinture (Paris / Las Palmas, Mafasca, 1984), "Virginia Wolf: Una estética del agua", in the collective volume coordinated by Marta López Gil, Mujeres fuera de quicio (2000, Adriana Hidalgo Editora), “La novelización del tiempo”, in the collective volume edited by Gwendolyn Díaz, Luisa Valenzuela sin máscara (2002, Feminaria Editora). In Lumen, she was the compiler of two works: Qué quieren las mujeres (2003) and Mujeres ante la crisis (2006). In 1984, she obtained a Fulbright scholarship to participate in the International Writers Workshop in Iowa, United States.
