1st Argentina-Brazil Young Leaders Forum 20/9/2015 al 22/9/2015
30 Argentinian and Brazilian youths met in Rio de Janeiro between September the 20th and the 21st to debate and rethink about the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The meeting was an initiative of the Foro del Sur Foundation and the Getulio Vargas Foundation - FGV (Brazil), with the aim of providing a platform that allows young people to enhance their leadership skills and generate a space for the exchange of professional experiences with a view to propose new approaches to current problems in the region and in the world.
The activities took place at the headquarters of the FGV in Rio de Janeiro and included the participation of prominent Argentinian and Brazilian experts, whose exhibitions on Mercosur, migratory flows and the commercial relationship with China started debates that promise to transcend the two days in which the event took place. Among the Argentinians present were Carolina Castro (President of the Young UIA), Francisco de Santibañes (Director of Havana SA), Jorge Lukowski (Director of Institutional Relations, Corporate Image and Advertising for Aeropuertos Argentina 2000), Mauro Solano (Academic Director of Fundación Desarrollo Argentino - DAR), Diego Coatz (Chief Economist UIA), among others.
The President of the Foro del Sur Foundation, Aníbal Jozami, stressed the importance of this type of meetings and the need to their continuation over time. In this sense, he pointed out the Foundation's commitment to promoting and organizing spaces through which the new generations of Argentinian and Brazilian leaders can jointly think about the various challenges facing the region. He also announced the holding of the second meeting, the following year, in Buenos Aires.
