CLIMATE CHANGE. THE PARIS AGREEMENTS AND THE CHALLENGES FOR THE ARGENTINIAN DEVELOPMENT 17/12/2015
The Foro del Sur Foundation and the Social Ministry of Buenos Aires invited to a meeting to discuss on the implications of the Climate Change Agreement recently signed in Paris.
At the Paris Conference on Climate Change -COP21-, the 195 participating countries signed a historic agreement whose main objective is to keep the temperature rise below two degrees Celsius. To this end, the signatory countries committed to review their national objectives to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases every five years. Although it is considered a historical fact, specialists maintain that it is just a first step and that there are still many other aspects to take into account in order to stop climate change.
The Social Pastoral carries out its mission through, on the one hand, coordination and articulation with ecclesial institutions and movements (vicaries, parishes, Caritas among others) and, on the other, through linking and accompanying different sectors of society -such as political, economic and union sectors, social movements, areas of culture, intellectuals and academics.
