COFFEE WITH IDEAS - ENRIQUE IGLESIAS 31/8/2022
On this occasion, the Foro del Sur Foundation welcomed Enrique Iglesias, president of the Astur Foundation, to its headquarters. He shared his concern about the need for “a Latin America that is less silent and more dynamic.”
Speaking to a group of Argentine authorities, diplomats, international officials, journalists, academics, business leaders and trade unionists, this prominent figure in international relations highlighted one of the greatest challenges facing humanity today: ensuring that “the current transition toward a new world order does not lead to confrontation between the United States and China.” He also warned that “if the conflict in Ukraine continues over time, the world’s political and economic borders will change.”
Enrique Iglesias has served as technical secretary of the Commission on Investment and Economic Development, president of the Central Bank of Uruguay, executive secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Uruguay’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, president of the Inter-American Development Bank, and Ibero-American Secretary-General.
