INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR: INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR FOREIGN INVESTMENT
In August 1998, the Foro del Sur Foundation held the International Seminar "The International Competition for Foreign Investment". The event took place in the Hall of the Americas of the Libertador Hotel in the city of Buenos Aires. It was organized together with the Investment Development Agency (ADI) and the Secretary of Industry, Commerce and Mining of the Ministry of Economy and Public Works and Services of Argentina. The lecturers, among others, were: Alieto Guadagni, Secretary of Industry, Commerce and Mining; Rubén Ricupero, Secretary General of UNCTAD; Joseph Stiglitz, Senior Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank; and Félix Peña, Undersecretary of Foreign Trade.
