An extendable Mercosur
The Foro del Sur Foundation, with the support of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, the ICBC Foundation, the Catholic University of Uruguay, the Center for Analysis and Diffusion of the Paraguayan Economy (CADEP) and the Training Center for Regional Integration (CEFIR), offered an open meeting to jointly reflect on the Mercosur’s present and future. What are the alternatives for each member in order to avoid losing out with possible bilateral agreements? Can the Mercosur survive bilateral agreements outside the bloc? What new political, social and cultural paradigms should be developed to maintain the unity of the bloc from now until the post-pandemic?
