EVENT: WOMEN IN THE DIGITAL ECONOMY - HOW TO OVERCOME INEQUALITY IN THE AGE OF ALGORITHMS 2/9/2019
It is said that technology is the great gender equalizer because it is neutral. But, is this true? The incorporation of technology into productive processes has obvious consequences for workers in general, but does it impact women equally? What awaits female workers in the era of big data and algorithms?
On September the 2nd, 2019, we had the opportunity to present a panel discussion entitled "Women in the Digital Economy", which included core topics such as the technological inclusion of women workers in Latin America, the platform economy focused from original and necessary angles, the algorithm as the new boss, the inequality generated by the as a whole, the possibility of establishing an affirmative agenda of algorithms, and algorithmic justice.
