DIGITAL CONFERENCE “A world beyond the Middle East: Arabs in the Americas” 28/9/2021

What are the contributions and impact of Arab migration in the Americas?

From the early 19th century to the present day, migration from Arab countries to the American continent has grown and continued over time.
On both sides of the Atlantic, writers, poets and intellectuals have built an integrated cultural fabric.

To discuss and learn about some of these stories and the challenges to preserve them, the Foro del Sur Foundation invited to a conversation with Akram Khater, PhD. from the University of California (Berkeley), professor at North Carolina State University, and director of the Moise A. Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies.

Moderator

Jorge Araneda Tapia, PhD. (c) International Relations, Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University.

The event was held in English with simultaneous translation into Spanish. The recording of the meeting is available to watch on the Foundation's Youtube Channel.
